ABOUT THE POSITION:

The Director of Marketing and Communications is a senior management position responsible for developing and implementing the schools full range of marketing and communications efforts critical to generating new enrollment, maximizing student retention and ensuring strong recognition for CESJDS in order to enhance its development program and national profile. In addition, the Director of Marketing and Communications is responsible for working with the Head of School to develop, write and produce all internal and external communications.

Specific tasks include:

  • Develop and lead all marketing campaigns, including but not limited to messaging, material, and outreach plans to advance the schools strategic and operating objectives.
  • Coordinate the writing and publication of major school internal and external communications, including those of the Head of School.
  • Assist Admissions and Development offices in developing and producing marketing material such as brochures, video, letters, etc.
  • Maximize CESJDS use of electronic communications, including overseeing and updating the schools website, upgrading our email capabilities and integrating new media and social networking tools into our outreach effort.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with local, specialty and national media.
  • Write and edit all press releases, letters, articles, stories and backgrounders that promote CESJDS.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
  • A self-starter with a proven track record of creating and implementing strategic marketing campaigns
  • Strong creative, strategic, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Exemplary writing skills
  • Experience developing and producing internal communications materials and publications
  • Experience using a variety of media tools including video, the Internet, print brochures and parlor meetings / speaking engagements
  • Ability to prioritize, establish goals and demonstrate quantifiable results
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once
  • Strong, effective, high-energy team player with a can-do attitude
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with administration and staff
  • Experience managing budgets and timelines
  • Ability to thoroughly understand and support the Schools mission and purpose
  • Knowledge of and/or experience working in the Jewish community is desirable
