Our client is a very successful and growing technology company in need of an experienced, mature and energetic SQL Server expert to manage a staff of SQL Server DBA’s.  This role will provide leadership to the DBA staff and work very closely with the SQL development staff.  Hands-on experience and expertise in both SQL Server administration and development will be critical for success.  In addition, candidates must have a proven track record of successful staff management and the ability to interact effectively with executive management on the technical strategy and direction of the company.


 


Our client is a well-regarded publically traded firm that utilizes cutting-edge Microsoft technologies throughout its IT organization. The successful candidate will be hired on a full time permanent basis and can expect a compensation package between $125-150K (including bonus), plus a strong 401k match, paid vacations, medical/dental/vision/life insurance, tuition reimbursement and a wide range of other benefits.


 


Technical background required:



  • Extensive experience with large-scale, enterprise grade SQL Server production database environments

  • In-depth understanding of RDBMS concepts, architecture and design

  • Backup and restore strategies, capacity management and DR planning

  • Redundant system architecture design

  • Stored procedures

  • Index tuning, performance tuning and troubleshooting

  • Reporting and analysis services

  • Data Conversions using SSIS and DTS

  • SQL server replication and Log shipping, SQL cluster architecture

  • Demonstrable employee management skills

  • Outstanding written and verbal skills
